Abstract

Secondary language: English
Secondary title: Slovenian municipal waste management system review and its analysis with identification of basic problems and future trends based on current laws and European Union directives
Secondary abstract: Current state of the Slovenian municipal waste treatment system is quite devastating. A lot of key information - like where a part of the waste ends, how many waste do we really generate and where do all the waste end - are missing. This document is offering a review of the current problem, including data that could be obtained by anyone from publicly available information. It includes information about Centers for waste management available capacities, operating licenses and treated quantities (from Annual Reports for year 2014) for CERO Zasavje, Koroška KOCEROD, CERO Spodnji Stari Grad, CERO Puconci, CERO Slovenska Bistrica, RCERO Celje and RCERO Ljubljana with other specified major waste treatment businesses: Dinos, Gorenje Surovina, Publicus and Saubermacher. Document contains insight into general state of discussed topic and national statistics. Shortly said, the problems started with policies bad design and execution on all levels. Situation is slowly improving – how and when the system will be sufficiently regulated, time will tell.
