Delovanje mariborskega mestnega sveta med letoma 1929 in 1935

Abstract

Pričujoče magistrsko delo predstavlja delovanje mariborskega mestnega sveta med leti 1929 in 1935. Obravnavano obdobje je zaznamovala uvedba šestojanuarske diktature, sprememba v obvladovanju državne, banovinske in občinske politike ter svetovna gospodarska kriza. Mariborsko mestno občino je v prvem obdobju, ko so v vladi še sodelovali pripadniki Slovenske ljudske stranke, vodil dr. Alojzij Juvan (1929-1931), ko pa so se le-ti umaknili iz režimske politike, pa predstavnik liberalnega tabora, dr. Franjo Lipold (1931-1935). Mesto je v tem času zaznamoval udarec gospodarske krize, ki se je poznal v vseh segmentih občinskega poslovanja, tako v organizaciji občinske uprave kot tudi v vsakdanjem življenju meščanov. Magistrsko delo v prvem delu podaja pregled dogajanja v Kraljevini Jugoslaviji in v Dravski banovini v času trajanja kraljeve diktature (1929-1935), v osrednjem delu pa pozornost namenja zadevam, s katerimi se je v tem obdobju ukvarjal mariborski mestni svet.

Secondary abstract:	The following masterʼs thesis presents the work of the municipal council of the City of Maribor between 1929 and 1935. The discussed period was characterized by the dictatorship of King Alexander I, the change of political orientation in the country and the Great Depression. In the first period, between 1929 and 1931, when catholic politics were still a part of the state government, Mayor, Alojzij Juvan, led Maribor. The change to liberal politics brought also a change in the municipality leadership, the mayor from 1931 to 1935 being Franjo Lipold. The time of Alexanderʼs dictatorship coincides with the Great depression, which hit the country and the city and was present in all aspects of everyday life and in the work of the municipality. In the first part of the masterʼs thesis, an overview of events in the Kingdom of Yugoslavia and in the Drava banovina is presented. The main part focuses on the work of the city council in all aspects of the municipality.
