Abstract
Danes živimo v družbi, kjer so otroci vsakodnevno izpostavljeni določeni meri medijev. Eden od prvih medijev, s katerim se sreča predšolski otrok, je televizija. Le-ta mu lahko zagotovi izobraževanje in zabavo, ob neprimerni izbiri vsebin pa mu lahko tudi škoduje. Diplomsko delo je sestavljeno iz teoretičnega in empiričnega dela. V prvem delu so predstavljene pomembne značilnosti medijev, predvsem televizije, ter njihovi pozitivni in negativni vplivi. Podrobneje so opisani vplivi na posamezna področja otrokovega razvoja, preprečevanje negativnih vplivov televizije ter vloga staršev pri uporabi televizije in skupnem spremljanju televizijskih vsebin. V empiričnem delu so predstavljeni rezultati raziskave o otrokovem spremljanju televizije in mnenja staršev o tem mediju. Vzorec zajema starše, ki imajo otroke vključene v Vzgojno-varstveni zavod Slovenj Gradec, Vrtec Ivana Glinška Maribor in Vrtec Tezno Maribor. Podatki, zbrani z anketnim vprašalnikom, so bili obdelani s pomočjo programa SPSS. Zanimalo nas je, ali prihaja do razlik v količini časa spremljanja televizije glede na starost otroka, spol, področje bivanja in vrsto družine. Ugotovljeno je bilo, da starši v večini primerov omejijo čas spremljanja televizije in postavijo pravila glede spremljanja televizijskih vsebin. Rezultati so prav tako pokazali, da je količina časa, preživetega pred televizijo, odvisna od starosti otroka, medtem ko spol otroka, področje bivanja in vrsta družine na to nimajo tolikšnega vpliva.

Today we live in a society where children are exposed to a certain amount of media on a daily basis. One of the first forms of media, which a pre-school child encounters, is television. It provides education and entertainment, but it can also cause harm in case of inappropriate content. The thesis consists of a theoretical and empirical part. In the first part the important characteristics of the media, especially television, as well as their positive and negative impacts are presented. The effects on specific areas of child development are described in detail, as well as preventing the negative effects of television, and the role of parents in the use of television and coviewing the TV content. In the empirical part the results of the research on child's TV viewing and parent opinions on this medium are presented. The sample includes the parents whose children are enrolled in the Child care institution Slovenj Gradec, Ivan Glinšek kindergarten and Tezno Maribor kindergarten. Data collected with the help of a questionnaire, were analyzed using SPSS Software. Our goal was to find out, whether there are any differences in the amount of TV viewing time depending on the child's age, sex, area of residence and the type of family. It was found that in most cases, parents limit TV viewing time and set rules regarding the broadcast content. The results also showed that the amount of time spent in front of the TV, depends on the age of the child, whereas the sex of the child, the area of residence and the type of a family do not have such a significant effect on that. |
