Abstract

Secondary title: Influence of strength mismatching on fracture toughness of weld joint on steel S500
Secondary abstract: Different methods for evaluation of fracture mechanics properties on weld joints were used in master thesis. Two weld joints with different Mis-matching were tested. The first weld joint had under-match with softer root weld material. The second one was welded one half with less strength filler material and other one with more strength filler material. Observations have shown that the way of welding has strong influence on the fracture properties. Better results were obtained in the weld, which was welded with a less strength filler material in the root of weld. The best results was obtained in the base material and the worst were in heat-affected zone.
