This Master's Thesis presents an observation and analysis of music teaching at a special, adjusted upbringing, education program in Osnovna šola Muta (primary school Muta). In the first, theoretical, part I will provide a definition of "children with special needs" and describe the main characteristics of mental disorders as well as the inclusion and integration of children with disabilities in regular schools, their socialization, special education of teachers, teachers' role in teaching and basic methods and teaching techniques. I will also compare lesson plans and aims with those of regular primary schools. In particular, I will present the meaning of music in the lives of children with special needs, and show how music education is used in their education. In the second, practical, part I will focus on a presentation of the special education program in Osnovna šola Muta, to demonstrate how a population of children with special needs in the adjusted upbringing and education program are taught musical arts, in comparison with other subjects. The structure of the syllabus, which was developed by the teacher and special pedagogue, is described; furthermore, I will describe how the syllabus upgrades methods and teaching techniques. Finally, I will present as an illustration the music activity of a child throughout the whole school year and also a teacher's aspect of their profession and to the subject of music art. |
