Secondary title: | THE ROLE OF INTERNATIONAL ORGANISATIONS IN THE PREVENTION OF HUMAN TRAFFICKING |
Secondary abstract: | The thesis entitled The Role of International Organisations in the Prevention of Human Trafficking deals with the issue of human trafficking and the »role« that international organisations had in the legal regulation of this global problem. This thesis presents all more important international legal documents, which were written in the context of international organisations and are either directly or indirectly related to its subject matter. Human trafficking is a new form of modern slavery and is as such considered a severe criminal offence. Human rights are violated in the process (because human trafficking is a process whose aim is to exploit) of human trafficking. The thesis also presents control mechanisms that have been developed by international organisations, which control countries' implementation of international obligations and presents the possibility of legal protection in case of violations. I have concluded the thesis by presenting the International Labour Organization. |
