Abstract

Diplomsko delo Stari starši in vnuki obravnava odnos med starimi starši in njihovimi vnuki. V diplomski nalogi smo v teoretičnem delu predstavili pojme socializacija, družina, razširjena družina, staranje, starost in starostna obdobja. Raziskovali smo vlogo, ki jo imajo stari starši v družini s predšolskim otrokom. Posvetili smo se vertikalno razširjeni družini in medosebnim odnosom med člani družine. Pri opredelitvi starih staršev nas je zanimalo, kakšno vlogo v družini imajo člani družine, kakšna je bila vloga starih staršev skozi čas in kakšno vlogo imajo v življenju vnukov danes. Napisanih je tudi nekaj predlogov strokovnjakov, kako naj stari starši uresničujejo svojo vlogo danes, podkrepljenih s praktičnimi primeri. V empiričnem delu smo ugotavljali vlogo in vključenost starih staršev v družini s predšolskim otrokom danes. Uporabili smo dva podobna anketna vprašalnika. Prvi anketni vprašalnik je izpolnil starš, drugi anketni vprašalnik pa stari starš vertikalno razširjene družine. Primerjali smo mnenja staršev in starih staršev o vključenosti v mlado družino, skušali ugotoviti, koliko časa preživijo skupaj in kakšne so njihove aktivnosti. Rezultate obeh anket smo analizirali in predstavili v obliki grafov in tabel ter jih interpretirali. Ugotovitve raziskovanja smo strnili v sklepu.

Secondary abstract: The thesis Grandparents and grandchildren discusses the relationship between grandparents and their grandchildren. The theoretical part of the thesis presents the terms socialization, family, expanded family, aging, old age and age periods. We have explored the role, which grandparents have in a family with preschool children. We have focused on the vertically expanded family and interpersonal relationships between the family members. When we were defining grandparents we wanted to find out what role the family members take, what was the role of grandparents through time and what role they play in the lives of their grandchildren today. We have stated some suggestions of experts on how grandparents realize their role today and we have supported these suggestions with practical examples. The empirical part discusses the role and inclusion of grandparents in the families with preschool children today. We have used two similar questionnaires. The first questionnaire was filled out by a parent and the second one by a grandparent of a vertically expanded family. We compared the opinions of parents and grandparents regarding the inclusion into a young family, we attempted to determine how much time they spend together and what their activities are. The results of both questionnaires were analysed and presented in the form of diagrams and tables and the results were also interpreted. The findings were summarized in the conclusion.
