Abstract

Paliativna oskrba nudi holistično oskrbo kronično bolnim in umirajočim. Rezultate smo obdelali z računalniškimi programi Microsoft Word, Microsoft Office Excel in SPSS 20. Rezultati raziskave. Anketni vprašalnik so izpolnjevali v večini mlajši ljudje, ki uporabljajo internet.

Secondary title: PUBLIC AWARENESS OF RIGHTS FOR PALLIATIVE CARE
Secondary abstract: Palliative care offers holistically care about chronically ill and dying people. Palliative care is very contemporary in the current time, but population is ageing and need for palliative care is increasing. In our empirical work we were finding out what kind of awareness do people have about rights to palliative care. Intention of master’s thesis was to figure out if gender, age and education influence on people’s awareness about rights to palliative care. Methodology of research. In quantitative manner of work we used a structured questionnaire, which contained 16 questions. 223 interviewees took part in our research, which was implemented on website named 1ka. Results were processed with computer programs Microsoft Word, Microsoft Office Excel and SPSS 20. Results of research. In our questionnaire mostly participated younger people, that are using Internet. They mostly knew term of palliative care, 97 % knew the mission of palliative care. Interviewees were in majority well known about their general rights to palliative care, according to Law on patient's rights. We disproved hypotheses, that people with higher education better know rights of palliative care as people with lower education, and also that older people are more interested in palliative care as younger people. Resolution. With research we claimed that interviewees were well conscious about rights of palliative care, but those findings doesn't fit determinings from other researches, where population of interviewees was older. In our case we have to comply with the fact that interviewees were mostly younger people, that are users of Internet. Despite palliative care is more contemporary in the current time, because of population ageing, we still would have to do much more on the field of awarenesses about rights to palliative care, because many older people doesn’t know the term of palliative care, determinings of foreign larger researches pointing out. People know, that in hospitals they take relief of pains and suffering, but they don't know all rights, that they have in the frame of palliative care. Media and informative materials, like the leaflets, posters etc. would be in large help in that field.
