Abstract

Uravnotežena prehrana je ključnega pomena za zdrav in optimalen razvoj otroka in mladostnika. Poznavanje označb na živilih omogoča potrošnikom enostavno izbiro ustreznih živil v skladu s smernicami zdravega prehranjevanja. Da bi otroke naučili pravilne izbire živil, jih je potrebno izobraževati že zelo zgodaj. Namen diplomskega dela je bil ugotoviti, kako pogosto osnovnošolci pogledajo označbe na živilih, kateri so tisti osnovnošolci, ki označbe preberejo, kako dobro poznajo in razumejo označbe na živilih ter ali imajo le-te vpliv na njihovo izbiro oziroma nakup živila. Rezultati raziskave so bili pridobljeni s pomočjo vprašalnika, ki ga je izpolnilo 213 osnovnošolcev 6. in 8. razreda iz Kočevja in okolice. Rezultati raziskave so pokazali, da bi bilo potrebno med osnovnošolci izboljšati razumevanje informacij o hranilni vrednosti in znakih kakovosti živil ter jih spodbujati k pogostejšemu pregledovanju označb na živilih. Učence bi bilo treba na ustrezen način informirati o zdravstvenih težavah, ki so posledica dolgotrajnega uživanja prekomernih količin soli, sladkorja in maščob.

Secondary title: Knowledge of food labels among primary school students
Secondary abstract: Healthy and balanced diet is very important for optimal development of children and adolescents. Knowledge about food labels gives consumers the opportunity to choose food for a healthy diet. In order to make good food choices, they need to be properly educated. The aim of this diploma thesis was to determinate how often does primary school students check on food labes on packages their knowledge and understanding about food labels and their influence on food choices. Data were collected using a questionnaire that was completed by 213 primary school students attending 6th and 8th grade in city of Kočevje and surroundings. Survey results show that would be necessary to improve knowledge of primary school students about nutrition information, sustainability labels and encourage them to use food labels more often. And finally, they need to be properly informed about the health problems caused by long-term consumption of excessive amounts of salt, sugar and fat.
