diplomsko delo visokošolskega strokovnega študija Varstvoslovje
Abstract
Prav gotovo so moški najbolj ranljivi ko so še otroci.

DETECTION OF VIOLENCE AGAINST MEN |
Secondary abstract: |
Violence against men might not be as openly discussed, but it is still a big problem. When we talk about violence we usually imagine men as the perpetrators and women as victims. But that might not always be the case. Among victims, we can also find a lot of men. Usually, these are men, that by some standards, do not fit into the stereotypical category of men in their local cultures. They are seen as weaker and more vulnerable by others.
Men as children are are definetly the most vulnerable group. They may fall prey to pedofiles, or domestic violence or they experience violence by their peers. Men are often exposed to physical abuse by other men, alongside negligence, psychological, sexual or economic violence.
Most violence against men is not reported about. Victims have a really hard time speaking out, and even the witnesses usually do not report about it. This is due to confusion, shame, guilt, stigma, prejudice or even the stereotypes associated with it. Many men think that they would expose their incapacity and the role of a man in patriarchal society by reporting about the violence. There are many involved who are responsible for detection and investigation of that violence: friends, coworkers, government and non-government agencies which deal first with the victims of violence.
Violence against men is rarely talked about and there is a lack of that theme in Slovene literature. Therefore, the purpose of this thesis is to examine the types of violence against men, how to recognize it and to identify the signs of violence agains men. |
