Abstract

Secondary title: Process optimization of district heat production by utilizing waste energy in metallurgical processes
Secondary abstract: The district heating system has a rich tradition in Ravne na Koroškem, as the consumers of district from the heating plant have been supplied since 1966. In this master thesis the main focus is on the presentation of technological solutions for the development of district heating plant beyond 2017, when the contract with the owner of the plant for heat and electricity expires. Three different scenarios have been addressed, that would, in accordance with Article 322 of the Energy Law, provide energy-efficient district heating system after 2020. Optimization of the process of district heat production is based on the utilization of excess energy generated in metallurgical processes.
