Abstract

Secondary title: The influence of parental conflicts on preschool children
Secondary abstract: In the diploma paper titled The Impact of Parental Conflicts on a Pre-School Child I wanted to thoroughly evaluate and examine what impact do conflicts between parents have on a pre-school child. The diploma paper consists of a theoretical and an empirical part. The theoretical part deals with conflicts in general, what are their positive and negative impacts, what impact do they have on a child, how children react to them and how should parents deal with them. In the empirical part of the paper, using descriptive and causal non experimental method on a specific population sample of 87 parents of pre-school children. To gather data, closed-ended questions were used, which is a quantitative data gathering technique. Using descriptive statistics, we determined that parents believe that parental conflicts have an impact on the pre-school child and that parents have different ways of reacting to family conflicts and dealing with them. We thus determined that each family has a different impact on the child when conflicts arise.
