diplomsko delo visokošolskega strokovnega študija Varnost in policijsko delo
Abstract
Diplomsko delo zajema definicijo nasilja nad moškimi v primerjavi z nasiljem nad ženskami in opis, kako se moški z nasilneži spopadajo.

Exposing violence against men |
Secondary abstract: |
Defined rules exist in the narrower and broader society, where we can distinguish between permissible and impermissible acts and behaviours. Society undergoes changes over time, which also affects the way of life and our defined rules. The realization of potential and life in accordance with others are associated with quality of life for all of us. In order to achieve both quality of life and a genuine relationship between people, it is essential to respect human rights and personal boundaries between individuals. The thesis focuses on violence against men, which is much less known to the general public as is violence against women. Male victims of violence are less willing to be exposed, because they do not want to be mocked. Consequently, the detection of violence against men needs to be addressed in an appropriate and careful manner, since men in such situations are not aware, where they can find help.
The thesis examines the definitions of violence against men in relation to violence against women and describes how men cope with their violators. It is clearly evident that it is not merely men who are violent against women, but the reality is that men of different groups are equally affected. Male victims can be males of various ages, such as: adult men, the elderly, the homeless and homosexuals. In order to detect cases of violence against men, we selected interviews with some of the victims of it, where violence against men is presented through their life story.
We have analyzed the personal conversation between two victims of violence, and the result showed us that the victims were exposed to psychological forms of violence. Also, the conversation with the social worker showed us that men receive psychological pressure, more than any other form of violence. From all three conversations it was clear that psychological violence against men is produced primarily in a relationship or by a partner and lasts for a few years. Social service worker said in the interview that anyone who turns to the social service for help, he gets one. After talking with the victims they described the service as sloppy and unprofessional, and they do not have a lot of confidence in such an institution. |
