Secondary title: | Subcutaneous microchip as a substitute for identity documents - information security and privacy dilemmas |
Secondary abstract: | This thesis is based on analysis of written sources, domestic and foreign articles and other literature which was used as presentation of frequency identification technology. We defined what its preferences and weaknesses are, what the technology is suitable for and dilemmas or obstacles from privacy's and personal information security's point of view. In this thesis, dilemmas and potential threats to privacy and personal information security with use of RFID technology for personal identification by using implantation of subcutaneous radio-frequency identification microchips are introduced. This thesis' goal or purpose is to ascertain and evaluate possibilities for use and abuse of RFID technology as means of identification or control of population. With this intention there are also defined possibilities of initiation of such identification technology according to current Slovenian legislation. |
