delo diplomskega seminarja
Simona Tadina (Author), Darja Boršič (Mentor)

Abstract

Slovenska podjetja so začela prestopati meje zaradi premajhnega domačega trga. Največ slovenskih naložb je v državah bivše Jugoslavije. Vlagajo pa najpogosteje v dejavnosti finančnih storitev razen zavarovalništva in pokojninskih skladov.

Secondary title: Characteristics of foreign direct investment in Slovenia
Secondary abstract: Involvment into the international environment will become an obligatory process for survival of companies, because the domestic markets are becoming over saturated. A part of the diploma describes one of many forms of stepping across national and regional borders, that is foreign direct investments. Investors decide where to invest based on the sort and number of motivational factors and barriers in some country, taxes, political arrangement and investment stimulations are also an important factor in their decisions, those are almost obligatory and self-evident in more and more expanded international business, because the investors decide mostly for countries with most attractive stimulations. Foreign direct investments in Slovenia have been increasing since 1994, except in 2001 and 2009, when they decreased in comparison to the previous year. The country that invests in Slovenia the most is Austria, according to value as well as to the number of investments. The activity where the foreigners have the most investments in Slovenia is financial service, apart from insurance and retirement funds. Slovene investors started to invest abroad in 1950. That is when the internationalization and foreign direct investments began to develop; the first bigger blossoming was in 1990. Slovene companies started to cross boarders because of too small domestic market. The most Slovene investments are in the countries of former Yugoslavia. They mostly invest into services of financial services, apart from insurance and retirement funds.
