Z novim modelom smo skrajšali posamezne faze procesa in skupni čas procesa skrajšali za povprečno 45 dni, s čimer smo dosegli 37% prihranek časa.

Sekundarni naslov: A new model of acquisition in the University of Maribor Library
Sekundarni povzetek: The main purpose of this research paper was to analyse the time spent for library’s stock acquisition in University of Maribor Library. For that purpose, we divided the whole process of library’s stock acquisition by purchase into the two sub processes. The first part is represented by material purchase and all activities, connected with it (from the moment when the suggestion to acquire the material is submitted, until the material is in the library), while the second part is material processing (from the moment when the material is in the library, until the point when it is on the bookshelf and available to be borrowed). Both, joint processes we named the stock acquisition or acquisition process. The purchase and the processing were divided to details and then grouped in phases, which enabled us to read-out the time between each single phase in the process. Based on the data read-outs from the module COBISS3/Acquisition and COBISS2, we calculated the duration of individual phases. By summarizing of all durations, which were spent at each single phase, we came to the total time, needed for the desired material to come to the bookshelf. We calculated the average value of each phase for every month separately, and based on them also the annual average. With the research we confirmed the assumption, that the acquisition process takes too much time. By calculating the duration of the individual process phases we found out that the material waits the longest time in descriptive cataloguing, on average even 53 days. The material waits on average 45 days in subject cataloguing. 10 days pass averagely from the suggestion until the order; and from the order until delivery 26 days on average. Based on these findings, we designed a new model of library’s stock acquisition by purchase. Using the new model we shortened the individual process phases. Thus, we shortened the total process time by 45 days on average, whereby we achieved 37% of time saving.
