Karantena in izolacija sta, poleg drugih dejavnikov tveganja, močno prizadeli duševno zdravje ljudi. Tvegane skupine (npr.: ženske, mlada starost, brezposelnost) imajo več dejavnikov tveganja in potrebujejo dodatne zaščitne ukrepe pred pojavom simptomov epidemije.

Sekundarni naslov: The influence of the covid-19 epidemic on the occurrence of depression in adults
Sekundarni povzetek: Depression is one of the most common mental disorders that cause people to seek medical help. In 2019, a disease that causes severe respiratory diseases such as pneumonia and lung failure appeared for the first time. It was named COVID-19, or the coronavirus disease 2019. The sudden outbreak of this infectious disease and strict prevention measures have a very negative effect on the symptoms of depression and increase its incidence. We conducted a systematic review, analysis and synthesis of the literature related to the impact of the COVID-19 epidemic on the occurrence of depression in adults. We used The Prisma diagram and the evidence's quality in the hierarchy of evidence. The selected databases were PubMed, Science Direct and Web of Science. The limiting criteria were articles published from 2020 to 2022 and all accessible articles in English. We included nine studies in the final review. In the evidence synthesis, we divided the results into two fields. In addition to identifying more exposed groups, we found out how crucial early protection and action are. The impact of COVID-19 on the study groups showed different risk factors according to exposure. Depressive symptoms were influenced more by negative changes resulting from the COVID-19 epidemic than by greater likelihood of infection. Risk groups have several risk factors (e.g., women in general, young age, unemployment) and need additional protection against the onset of epidemic symptoms. Thus, quarantine, isolation, and other risk factors have greatly affected people's mental health.
