| Sekundarni naslov: | Use of capacitive and resistive radiofrequency therapy for increasing tissue temperature |
| Sekundarni povzetek: | Introduction: Capacitive and resistive energy transfer devices use electromagnetic waves from 300 kHz to 1 MHz to generate heat in different tissues. The aim of the literature review is to define the effects of radiofrequency therapy on tissue temperature based on its parameters. Methods: A literature review was performed in PubMed, CINAHL and PEDro databases. Results: Twelve studies were included in the review. The results show that the therapy including both methods, as well as the individual modalities, statistically significantly increased the skin temperature compared to sham therapy and no treatment. The increased skin temperature lasted up to 30 minutes after treatment. The results also showed an increase in tissue temperature 10 and 20 mm under the skin. Conclusions: Radiofrequency therapy with capacitive and resistive energy transfer is an effective form of thermotherapy increasing temperature superficially and in the depth in healthy adults. |
