Sekundarni povzetek:	In the diploma thesis I present ball games and how they are popular among children of 4th and 5th form of primary school. Sport activities play an important role when growing up and it is up to adults to provide children a certain amount of exercise in the pre-school period and during their schooling. It is important that one considers child's age and that the activities are represented through playing. Ball games are included in the curriculum in one of the sets in the first three years. In the folllowing three years there are four sets: basketball, volleyball, handball and football. The contents, methods and and forms of teaching change. At the beginning the movements are simpler and organization – and tactics-wise less demanding. Further on they become more demanding. In the research part I have used survey method and data processing method and their interpretation. In the research, carried out in the fourth and fifth form (181 pupils) I have established that in general children like ball games and a lot of them attend sports activities. The results have also shown they often play ball games and that they live P.E. The most popular game is »Between two fires«.

Povzetek (ePrints):	V diplomskem delu sem prikazala igre z žogo in njihovo priljubljenost med učenci in učenkami 4. in 5. razreda devetletne osnovne šole. Gibalne/športne aktivnosti so pomemben dejavnik v razvoju in odrasli smo jih dolžni zagotoviti otrokom v primerni količini že v predšolskem obdobju in kasneje v obdobju njihovega šolanja. Upoštevati je potrebno stopnjo razvoja in dejavnosti predstaviti skozi igro. Pomembno vlogo pri tem imajo tudi igre z žogo, ki so v učnem načrtu vključene v enega izmed sklopov za prvo triletje. V drugem triletju so omenjenim igram namenjeni kar štirje sklopi, to so: mala košarka, mala odbojka, mali rokomet, mali nogomet. Praktične vsebine, metode in oblike poučevanja se spreminjajo z vadbenimi dejavnostmi. Na začetku so preprostejša gibanja, organizacijsko in taktično manj zahtevna, kasneje pa se zahtevnost stopnjuje glede na starost otrok. Pri raziskovalnem delu sem uporabila metodo anketiranja in metodo obdelave podatkov in njihovo interpretacijo. V raziskavi, ki je bila izvedena pri učencih 4. in 5. razreda devetletne osnovne šole, je sodelovalo 181 anketiranih. Pri tem sem ugotovila, da imajo učenci in učenke na splošno igre z žogo radi, da v veliki meri obiskujejo športne interesne dejavnosti, pri katerih je vključena žoga kot rekvizit, in da so med njimi gibalne spretnosti z žogo na splošno priljubljene. Rezultati so pokazali tudi to, da pri urah športne vzgoje pogosto uporabljajo žogo in da jim je ura športne vzgoje vedno všeč, ne glede na uporabo rekvizita. Potrdili so tudi, da je najbolj priljubljena igra z žogo igra »med dvema ognjema«.
