Sekundarni povzetek: My thesis entitled Oral performance of children in nursery school and first grade of primary school consists of a theoretical and empirical part. In the theoretical part I focused on the term 'rhetoric', which is a synonym of the term 'elocution'. The term has changed during different periods and with it also oral preformance in public and in primary school as well. The aim of the thesis is to determine the opinions and points of view of the teachers about the oral performance of their pupils. In the empirical part I focused on teachers of children in the first grade of primary school and of those aged from 4 to 6 years. They filled out a questionnaire with questions on how the children perform orally and what are the circumstances of the performance.

Povzetek (ePrints): Diplomsko delo z naslovom Govorno nastopanje otrok v vrtcu in prvem razredu osnovne šole sestavljata teoretični in empirični del. V teoretičnem delu sem se osredotočila na pojem retorika, ki je sinonim za pojem govorništvo. Pojem retorike se je skozi različna obdobja spreminjal, s tem pa je povezano tudi spreminjanje govornega nastopanja tako v javnosti kot v osnovni šoli. Cilj diplomskega dela je ugotoviti, kakšno je mnenje učiteljic oz. učiteljev in vzgojiteljic oz. vzgojiteljev o govornem nastopanju. V empiričnem delu sem se osredotočila na učiteljice in učitelje otrok v prvem razredu ter vzgojiteljice in vzgojitelje v starostni skupini 4–6. S pomočjo anketnega vprašalnika sem jih vprašala o tem, kako otroci govorno nastopajo in katere so okoliščine nastopanja.
