Sekundarni naslov: Evaluation of primary school teacher profession by primary school teachers
Sekundarni povzetek: Society which we live in is an organizational society. Organizations, being the units for achieving certain goals, are implemented in non-governmental and governmental institutions. Part of the latter is also school which, due to its specific nature of work, i.e. transfer of knowledge onto the next generations, represents an important link in the society. This diploma thesis discusses the school as an institution, exposing its operations and its impact on the entities that are employed within it. Furthermore, it describes the level of confidence in the institutions at the international and local levels, as well as presents the evaluation of the teachers in Slovenia. The survey, carried out on a sample of 131 primary school teachers from 36 different primary schools in Slovenia, shows that participants appreciate their profession and are satisfied with their choice. They believe they are good teachers, are highly motivated for work, willing to progress and estimate they are autonomous enough. On average they positively evaluated the new electronic recording system eAsistent. The biggest obstacle in achieving the objectives presents the Ministry of Education, Science and Sport, and bureaucracy, whereas the parents on average do not hinder them and cooperate well. The vast majority believes that the profession of a primary school teacher had been much more appreciated in the past, all would in different ways try to increase the reputation of the profession. Within the institution they enjoy a high level of support and have excellent relations with their colleagues; outside the institution, according to their opinion, they receive the greatest support from SVIZ (Education, Science and Culture Trade Union of Slovenia) and the least from the Government. The participants have mixed opinions with regard to the promotion and recommendations of the profession, they expressed doubts about the quality of the primary school today, but otherwise most of them plan to continue their professional career at the school where they already work.
