There has been rising of numbers of single - track motor vehicles, especially motorcycles, on the Slovenian roads and highways in recent years. Consequently, drivers of single-track motor vehicles have an increasing role in road/highway traffic and great impact on road/highway safety. Road safety for motorcycle drivers in the year 2009, compared with 2008 estimated as well. The reason is perhaps the last amendment of the Law on Road Traffic Safety, proposed in April 2008. Despite the reduction in the number of road accidents and the consequences of which have involved single-track motorcycles drivers, the percentage share of the injured drivers did not change, however it only decreased the proportion of fatalities.
The present diploma work comprises, apart from accident statistics with the participation of single-track motorcycle drivers and sale of motor cycles, also chapters, which are important for driving the motorcycle and the preparation and equipment prior to the actual driving. In order to increase accountability and psychological behaviour of motorists, there is a summary of the psychology of drivers and traffic culture include in diploma work. Furthermore, there have been some approaches and technical - technological solutions proposed to ensure greater safety for drivers of motor vehicles with single - track regarding the driver, vehicle and environment (roads). In conclusion, some suggestions and measures to raise the level of single - track road safety for drivers of motor vehicles from the point of view of all three main factors regarding road safety are proposed. |
