Sekundarni naslov: | Photocatalytic decomposition of selected compounds in aqueous solutions using nanoparticles |
Sekundarni povzetek: | In this thesis we have tried to determine the effect of oxidation processes on some common pollutants present in water. With the use of TiO2 nanoparticles we tried reducing the concentrations of selected pollutants. The data we acquired was then used to test the degradation of pollutants in a real sample of contaminated water. Results of our experiments on degredation of pollutants showed that, with the use of TiO2 nanoparticles, we successfully lowered concentrations of organic substances in water while the concentration of ammonium nitrogen could not be reduced to an acceptable level. Attempts to reduce the level of pollution of leachate were unsatisfactory. |
