primerjava stališč leta 2007 in 2017
V teoretičnem delu magistrske naloge smo uporabili deskriptivno metodo študije domačih in tujih strokovnih ter znanstvenih virov s področja migracij in migracijske politike.

Republic of Slovenia citizens attitudes towards migration and immigrants: A comaparsion between standpoints in years 2007 and 2017 |
Sekundarni povzetek: |
The whole Europe has been facing the phenomenon of the migrant crisis over the past few years, which has in a milder form also touched the Republic of Slovenia and its citizens.
The increased number of refugees and other migrants in the recent years has brought some solidarity and the struggle for equality on the European soil. On the other hand, it has also brought enormous uncertainties and even more fear and opposition in the receiving societies. Despite the extremely high emphasis on human rights and equality for all people, it is more than obvious in individual cases, that all acts and views of people are not the same, as people prefer to avoid differences and changes rather than accepting them. People's attitudes towards migrants are divided into positive and negative, and are different for distinct factors. In the theoretical part of the master's thesis we used descriptive method of research of domestic and foreign professional and scientific sources in the field of migration and migration policy. In the empirical part of the master's thesis, we presented the results of our own research and conducted a comparative analysis to find out the differences in the answers of Republic of Slovenia’s citizens in relation to years 2007 and 2017. The findings of our research show that in the present time the citizens of the Republic of Slovenia perceive migrants as a bigger problem and a more serious economic threat to the accepting society than in 2007. However, the view on the restriction of immigration of certain categories of migrants according to the country of origin and the social status has not changed. Furthermore, we found that the attitude of the citizens of the Republic of Slovenia to integration policy does not differ according to age, education, gender and status. The findings also show that contact with migrants is linked to supporting the migration policy of protecting migrants' rights. |
