Povzetek

Neprimerna in neredna prehrana, pomanjkanje zadostne telesne aktivnosti in pretežno sedeč način življenja so le nekateri izmed dejavnikov, ki vodijo v višanje deleža prebivalstva z debelostjo. Na podlagi številnih raziskav o incidenci debelosti v Sloveniji in širše je jasno, da problem debelosti vzbuja zaskrbljenost. Čeprav je ozaveščanje o pomembnosti telesne aktivnosti in uravnotežene prehrane vedno večje, se število oseb s čezmerno telesno maso in debelostjo povišuje. Obstaja množica različnih telesnih aktivnosti in diet, a le prava kombinacija obeh daje želene rezultate. Cilj diplomskega dela je bil ugotoviti, ali je ketonska dieta ustrezna za zmanjševanje telesne mase pri osebah z debelostjo, hkrati pa smo želeli ugotoviti, katera telesna aktivnost ima najboljše učinke na zmanjšanje telesne mase. Z uporabo vnaprej določenih kriterijev smo pregledali podatkovni zbirki BioMed Central in PubMed. V diplomsko delo smo vključili zgolj znanstvene raziskave, ki so ustrezale kriterijem. Ugotovili smo, da raziskave kažejo pozitivne učinke na zmanjšanje telesne mase tako ketonske diete kot tudi nekaterih telesnih aktivnosti, ki vključujejo vadbo za moč ter kombinacijo aerobne vadbe in vadbe za moč.

Sekundarni povzetek: Improper and irregular eating habits, a lack of physical activity and a predominantly sitting lifestyle are but a few of the factors that lead to the continuing increase of obesity in the population. Based on the research about the incidence of obesity in Slovenia and abroad, it can be concluded that the situation raises concern. Inspite of constant educational campaigns as to the importance of proper nutrition and regular exercise, the number of people with obesity is steadily increasing. There are numerous options of exercise and diets but only the appropriate combination of both can guarantee to provide the desired result. The aim of this study is to establish whether or not the ketogenic diet is an appropriate mechanism for weight reduction of persons with obesity and which form of physical activity is the most efficient in achieving the intended result of reducing body mass. The BioMed Central and PubMed online repositories were examined by using the predefined criteria of relevant literature. This work is based only on publications that meet the criteria. Upon examination of existing literature on the subject, it may be concluded that the ketogenic diet is indeed appropriate for the purpose of weight loss as are also some forms of physical activity, such as resistance training and a combination of resistance training and aerobic exercise.
