diplomsko delo
To področje smo opisali in podkrepili z raziskavami o pozitivnih učinkih terapij z živalmi.

Child's attachment to animals |
Sekundarni povzetek: |
In the thesis, we discussed the child's attachment to a pet. The theoretical part defines attachment, attachment patterns and how it develops in a child through different developmental stages. We described the importance of a pet for a child. In general, even the very contact with an animal should have a positive impact on the welfare of all people, which is also stated in different literature and proven with different researches. For the selection of a pet, we described the most suitable animals for a child with regards to their difficulty in terms of care, feeding and habitation. Parents and other adults have an important role in all of this, therefore we also described their role in the decision-making and in letting a pet into their home. Children are excited, when they can have contact with animals also in the kindergarten, therefore we presented the inclusion of animals into a kindergarten group and its positive effect on children. Some animals have a therapeutic power. Abroad and in Slovenia, pet therapies are taking place for quite some time for adults and children with special needs. In addition to this, we have also presented this field and backed it with researches about positive effects of pet therapy. In the empirical part, we wanted to find out, whether the child's attachment to a pet reflects the same patterns as they are presented in literature about attachment to the mother, and whether the relationship or attachment to an animal changes, if the child has the pet for a long time. In doing so, we have used an online questionnaire, which included open questions and an assessment scale. The results have shown that in the case of attachment to a pet, the same patterns are visible as in the case of attachment to the mother, and that the child's relationship towards the animal does not significantly change. Some children are still showing extreme interest and excitement every time they see the pet, only the care for the animal decreases. But the attachment remains the same or grows in children, who have the animal since birth or for quite some time. |
