Sekundarni naslov: ǂA ǂcomparison of the Slovene and Finnish primary school system
Sekundarni povzetek: The Finnish school system is considered one of the most effective in the world. According to international research and criteria (TIMSS and PISA), Finnish children have achieved the best results; however, Finland's success, unfortunately, cannot be transferred to our environment and be expected to work as it represents the result of many years of development. Based on a comparison of the Slovene and Finnish school system we have, in this thesis, pointed out the positive aspects of both, as well as those elements of Finnish school system that should be considered and might be introduced into the Slovene school system in the future as a way of an update. In the first part of the master's thesis, the development of the school system in Slovenia in individual periods is presented, based on the years and milestones that marked the primary education in the past and nowadays. Next, there is an overview of the development of education in Finland, which is intended to explain how Finland can represent a model for education to other countries. In the following, we focused in individual areas of primary school system in Slovenia and Finland, where we described their characteristics in detail, and, consequently, learned how the educational systems are similar and where there are key differences between them.
