magistrsko delo

ǂThe ǂrelationship between graphomotor skills, phonological awareness and vocabulary of first nad second grade pupils at primary school |

The child's speech and motoric development proceeds the whole life. In the theoretical part of the thesis it was presented, how the speech development of the child proceeds from the first sounds to the formation of sentences. Described were the most frequent speech impediments and solecisms, where we also presented individual deviations. Furthermore the importance of the development of the phonological awareness and vocabulary, which are closely interconnected, were presented in detail, as well as the difficulties that may arise on separate areas. The aim of the thesis was to research the connection of the graphomotor skills with the phonological awareness and the vocabulary. For this reason the development of the motoric functions, graphomotor skills and the difficulties in this area - the developmental dysgraphia - were defined in detail. In the empirical part it was researched, whether there is a connection between the graphomotor skills, the phonological awareness and the vocabulary of the children. The aim was to find out the influence of the laterality and the dominant hand respectively on the graphomotor skills and the difference between the child gender and to compare three different schools, the central school and two subsidiary schools. The results proved, that those children who take part in combined classes are more successful at solving tests. It was proved that the dominant hand does not have any influence on the graphomotor skills, but there are other factors more essential. A visible, though minimum difference of successfulness between the genders of the children was proved. According to the research results the girls of the research sample were on average more successful than the boys. The research sample showed a relationship between graphomotor skills, phonological awareness and vocabulary. |
