Povzetek
V tem diplomskem delu predstavljamo poskus ustvarjanja fazne inverzije v emulzijskem sistemu z monomeri tiolov in alkenov z visokim deležem notranje faze. Preizkušali in opisali smo dejavnike, ki vplivajo na porazdelitev faz v emulziji. Tako smo najprej spreminjali volumski delež notranje faze, nato masni delež surfaktanta in na koncu še temperaturo vodne kopeli, v kateri se je nahajal reaktor z emulzijo.
Fazno inverzijo smo poskušali ustvariti v emulziji monomerov 1,6-heksandiol diakrilat in pentaeritritol tetrakis (3-merkatopropionat), pri čemer po polimerizaciji kot končni produkt dobimo visoko porozen polimer. V iskanju ustreznih pogojev za nastanek tega pojava smo spreminjali delež surfaktanta Pluronic L121, delež vodne faze, ki jo je predstavljala razredčena raztopina kalcijevega klorida heksahidrata, in temperaturo vodne kopeli. Zatehte monomerov in iniciatorja Irgacure 819 ter pogoji fotopolimerizacije in hitrost mešanja emulzije so bili tekom eksperimenta vedno enaki. S pomočjo vrstičnega elektronskega mikroskopa (SEM) smo preverili, pri katerih pogojih priprave dobimo namesto tipične strukture poliHIPE strukturo, kjer so praznine in zapolnjena mesta obrnjena. Uspelo nam je ustvariti monolit s črvičasto strukturo, ki nakazuje začetek fazne inverzije.

In this diploma thesis we introduce our attempt at creating a phase inversion in an emulsion system with thiol and alkene monomers with a high share of internal phase. We tested and described the factors that affect the distribution of phases in an emulsion. We began by changing the volume share of internal phase, then the mass share of the surfactant and in the end the temperature of the water bath, in which the reactor was resting.
We were creating the phase inversion in an emulsions of monomers 1,6-hexanediol diacrylate and pentaerythritol tetrakis (3-mercatopropionate), which after the polymerisation gives us a highly porous polymer as a final product. In the search for appropriate conditions for this phenomenon we changed the share of surfactant Pluronic L121, the share of water phase, which was a diluted solution of calcium chloride hexahydrate in water, and the temperature of the water bath. The mass of both monomers and iniciator Irgacure 819, the conditions of photo polymerisation and the mixing rate of the emulsion all stayed the same throughout the experiment. With the scanning electron microscope we were able to check which conditions gave us the structure which is inverted in comparison to the typical poliHIPE structure. We managed to create a monolith with a worm-like structure, which indicates a beginning of the phase inversion. |
