Povzetek
Namen diplomske naloge sta bili priprava in karakterizacija mikrokapsul: v koloidno raztopino β-ciklodekstrina smo s tehniko enkapsulacije ujeli olje citronele. Z laboratorijskimi metodami smo določili velikosti delcev, izmerili potenciala zeta, vsebnosti vlage, opravili analizo s FTIR (Fourierjeva transformacijska infrardeča spektroskopija) ter izvedli meritve hlapnih snovi z modificirano kromatografsko metodo (GC).
Ugotovili smo, da smo uspešno enkapsulirali olje citronele v mikrokapsule β-ciklodekstrina. Meritve spektrov FTIR olja citronele, β-ciklodekstrina in vzorca sintetiziranih mikrokapsul so pokazale ujemanje spektrov β-ciklodekstrina in sintetiziranih mikrokapsul. S tem smo potrdili, da je olje citronele v notranjosti mikrokapsule, in ne na ovoju.
Meritve velikosti delcev so pokazale, da gre za mikroenkapsulacijo. Velikost delcev je bila neenakomerna, kar je pokazal polidisperzni indeks. Dobili smo neenakomerno masno vpetje olja citronele v mikrokapsule. Izmerjeni potencial zeta je pokazal, da je raztopina nestabilna in da so se delci posedali.
V olju citronele in v pripravljenih mikrokapsulah smo z modificirano metodo GC identificirali vsebnost in hitrost sproščanja hlapnih spojin β-citronelola, citronele in trans-geraniola. Ugotovili smo, da je spontano sproščanje ob izpostavitvi zunanjim pogojem hitro. V prvih štirih urah se večina substanc sprosti in koncentracija ostaja konstantna do konca merjenja.

The purpose of the diploma thesis was the preparation and characterization of microcapsules: we captured citronella oil in a colloidal solution of β-cyclodextrin using the encapsulation technique. With laboratory methods we determined particle sizes, zeta potentials, moisture content, analyzed FTIR (Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy) and measured volatile substances using modified chromatographic method (GC).
We found that we successfully encapsulated citronella oil into β-cyclodextrin microcapsules. Measurements of FTIR spectra of citronella oil, β-cyclodextrin, and a sample of synthesized microcapsules showed a match between the spectra of β-cyclodextrin and the synthesized microcapsules. This is confirmation that citronella oil is inside the microcapsule and not on the outside wall.
Particle size measurements showed that encapsulation was microencapsulation. The particle size was uneven, as indicated by the polydispersed index. We obtained an uneven mass attachment of citronella oil into the microcapsules. The measured zeta potential indicated that the solution was unstable and subjugated to coagulation and the particles settled.
In the citronella oil and in the prepared microcapsules, the content and rate of release of volatile compounds of β-citronellol, citronella, and trans-geraniol were identified by a modified GC method. We have found that spontaneous release upon exposure to external conditions is rapid. During the first four hours, most substances are released and remain constant until the end of the measurement. |
