magistrsko delo

Presence of stress and burnout among students |
Sekundarni povzetek: |
Diseases of the 21st century, stress and burnout, are daily said words that we all know very well, and we know how to face them without any problems. But do we really know them? According to a study by the European Agency for Safety and Health (2017), about half of all lost work days are the result of stress often felt by more than 50% of European workers. Through the master's thesis, I walked across the theoretical basis of both concepts, stress and burnout, the causes and consequences that are characteristic of both diseases, and how they can be confronted or prevented in the beginning. I linked them to the population of active Slovenian students, who in addition to studying include in some type of employment. I was wondering to what extent students are under stress and burnout, if there are differences between in experience of these diseases between the sexes and how the various organizational factors, specifically autonomy in the workplace, impact the level of experience of stress and burnout. Data for the analysis, I obtained through an online survey carried out among students of the Faculty of Social Sciences and connect them with a theoretical foundation. In the analysis I measured impact of different variable on the average stress and autonomy through various indicators. Worrying are the results that show that there are the majority of students under constant stress, of which many of them already experience some sort of burnout. While in the case of stress, it is not possible to prove the statistical difference between the sexes, it is noticeable that the burning out is more susceptible to women. I can also confirmed through the statistical analysis the positive effects of autonomy on the level of stress and burnout. |
