Sekundarni naslov: the impact of organised exercise classes on selected motor skills of preschool children
Sekundarni povzetek: The purpose of the master's thesis was to establish whether there were differences in the motor skills of children who attended additional exercise classes under professional guidance once a week and of children who did not. We also wanted to check if there were differences within the experimental and the control groups according to gender. The study included 68 children aged 4 to 5 years. The experimental group consisted of 34 children who attended the additional exercise classes Malčkov šport for fifteen weeks. The control group consisted of 34 children from two kindergartens (Legen and Pameče kindergartens) who did not attend additional exercise classes. With the selected movement tests we measured the motor skills of the children at the beginning and at the end of the study. We processed the data using Excel Microsoft 2016 and SPSS. The hypothesis was checked with t-test for dependent samples with 5 % statistical risk. We have established that children in the experimental group statistically typically improved their scores in all movement tasks. In the control group, we predicted that the progress in movement skills would not be statistically typical, but only the “front and behind-the-back clapping” test did not improve significantly. We have also established that boys and girls do not differ statistically typically in their motor skills. The study has therefore shown that for all movement tests statistically typical progress was made in children who attended additional exercise classes for 15 weeks, as well as in those (with the exception of one exercise task) who performed only physical activities within the kindergarten curriculum - probably due to the high quality work of educators and the rapid development of children during this period.
