Primerjava programskih rešitev za digitalno obnavljanje starih fotografij

Povzetek

Danes se vedno bolj zavedamo, kako se svet hitro spreminja in kako pomembna so posamezna zgodovinska dejstva, naša kulturna dediščina in naši spomini. Ohranjeni in prikazani so na starih fotografijah in dokumentih, ki so pogosto poškodovani. Stare poškodovane fotografije, ki s časom propadajo, smo želeli iztrgati uničenju in pozabi, kar nam omogoča sodobna tehnologija za digitalno obnavljanje. Cilj diplomske naloge je preučiti postopek obnavljanja starih fotografij ter na konkretnih primerih fotografij primerjati orodja za obdelavo fotografij. Med orodji za obdelavo fotografij se najpogosteje uporabljata Adobe Photoshop in GIMP, zato smo se odločili, da ju primerjamo na primerih treh različno poškodovanih starih fotografij. V procesu obnavljanja smo upoštevali splošna priporočila popravljanja starih fotografij. Primerjali smo delovanje orodij obeh programov in končne izboljšane fotografije. Izbira najustreznejšega programa je sicer delno odvisna od prioritet uporabnika, pri čemer se je v našem primeru Adobe Photoshop izkazal kot bolj uporaben. Postopek obdelave fotografije z Adobe Photoshopom je hitrejši in enostavnejši, hkrati pa so rezultati boljši.

Sekundarni povzetek:	Today we are increasingly more aware of how fast the world is changing and how important individual historical facts, our cultural heritage and our memories are. They are preserved and displayed on old photographs and documents, which are often damaged. We wanted to tear out the old damaged photos, which unfortunately decay over time, from destruction and oblivion, which is made possible by modern digital restoration technology. The aim of the diploma thesis is to study the process of restoring old photographs and to compare photo processing tools on concrete examples of photographs. Among the photo processing tools, Adobe Photoshop and GIMP are the most commonly used, that is why we decided to compare them on the examples of three differently damaged old photos. In the restoration process, we followed the general recommendations for correcting old photos. We compared the performance of the tools of both programs and the final enhanced photos. The choice of the most appropriate program partly depends on the user’s priorities, whereby in our case Adobe Photoshop proved to be more useful. The process of processing a photo with Adobe Photoshop is faster and easier, and at the same time the results are better.
