magistrsko delo
Vedno sem imela zelo bujno domišljijo, nore sanje in neskončno število možnih transformacij materialov, predmetov in podob.

Collecting and selecting in art space |
Sekundarni povzetek: |
Artistic creating is composed by conscious and unconscious impulses. Each artist have different ways of creating, which lead to intentional or coincidental art object. For artist is very important, that he explore his inner impulses for creativity, because it helps him understand his own works and to present it to. As an artist, I wanted to answer the questions of where the need, enthusiasm and desire for creation come from. I have realised that my own artistic process is closely connected to the accumulation of objects which are particularly valuable to me, which is why I can easily relate to collectors, people who gather things because they bring them joy, self-affirmation and compensation for the absence of important people in the time of their adolescence, with collecting of the objects of particular value. During the observation of my impulses, I noticed similarities in behaviour of important others in my life and my own. People around me like to collect objects as a result of different inner impulses as well, which could mean that my urge to gather objects, either those from natural world or waste materials, originates to some extend from observing the environment and imitating the behaviour of others in it.
Realising that I have always wanted to present these object, which are constantly taking new shapes and purposes in my head, to others in a fun and original way, is how I came to the explanation of my own artistic process. For me, the reason I wish to represent things that may seem useless, irrelevant or uninteresting, in a new form, transformed, and a different context, is the fact that I have never really felt the need to portray object realistically – my imagination has always been very vivid and my dreams, in which I continuously picture an infinite number of possibilities for the transformation of materials, objects and images, somewhat unconventional.
Based on the exploration of my own creative process, I included the Assemblage technique in the pedagogical research part of the master's thesis. By conducting a lesson based on Assemblage, I wanted to introduce students to a new art technique and contemporary art practices with its different, more active approach to artistic expression, which allows greater relaxation and freedom for senior students. |
