Povzetek

Uvod: Neplodnost prizadene oba spola. Dejavniki, ki nižajo možnosti zanositve so kajenje, alkohol, droge, kofein, starost, spolno prenosljive infekcije, telesna teža, prehrana, intenzivna telesna aktivnost in škodljivi dejavniki okolja. Statistične razlike smo preverjali s Hi-kvadrat testom.

Sekundarni naslov: Knowledge and attitude towards (in)fertility of nursing and midwifery students
Sekundarni povzetek: Introduction: Infertility affects both sexes. Factors that lower the chances of getting pregnant are smoking, alcohol, drugs, caffeine, age, sexually transmitted infections, body weight, diet, intensive physical activity, and harmful environmental factors. The purpose of the master's thesis is to study the knowledge and attitudes of 1st and 3rd year nursing and midwifery students towards certain environmental factors and lifestyle that may affect fertility. Methods: A causal-non-experimental method of empirical research was used. We selected a dedicated sample. The research instrument was a survey questionnaire designed using the 1KA online survey tool. The reliability of the instrument was checked with the Content Validity Index method. The survey was conducted online from May 11 to June 11, 2020. Basic descriptive statistics were made. Statistical differences were checked with Chi-square test. Data analysis was performed using IBM SPSS Statistics 25 and Microsoft Excel. Results: 103 students participated in the research, of which 71 were nursing students and 32 midwifery students. 85% of students know the definition of infertility. 67% of students know possible fertility risk factors. Most first-year students (47.4%) consider that age is a risk for both sexes, while only 24.6% of students from 3rd year consider that too. The most information on fertility and risk factors was obtained during the study education (47%). Discussion and conclusion: Students show solid knowledge about (in)fertility. Still, 94 students would like to gain more knowledge. Students know the fertility risk factors, yet they do not live a healthy life. Fertility education taught by experienced health professionals is crucial, individuals and wider society would benefit from it.
