seminarsko diplomsko delo
Povzetek
Tragedija Hamlet sodi v sam vrh evropske dramske ustvarjalnosti. V ospredje stopa Shakespearovo lastno razumevanje človeka in njegovega mesta v svetu.

William Shakespeare and the tragedy of Hamlet |
Sekundarni povzetek: |
The tragedy of Hamlet is regarded to be one of the best European dramatic works. It is classified in the period of High Renaissance, which is said to be to Shakespeare's most creative period. This period is marked by traces of disappointment and resignation, and is already moving away from the ideals of the Early Renaissance and Humanism. Shakespeare's comprehension of the human and its place in the world is set in the foreground. The playwright wants to discover the human's character, especially its features and peculiarities. Interpersonal relations in a society are mainly influenced by the individual's character. All five parts of the traditional structure of drama can be found in Hamlet, yet this tragedy has many parallel plots, which are sometimes confusing due to the richness of stories, mixing the tragic and comic and numerous ironic parallels. All these plots are strongly connected. The characters in Hamlet are designed to come to life before us as a set of contradictory traits. Characters are intertwined by family and friendly ties and by personal matters. Monologue was often used in Hamlet, and this was Shakespeare's way of introducing Hamlet to the audience and making him an even greater mystery. Much material has been written and dedicated to this unusual hero, called Hamlet. Luckily, the human creativity is unstoppable and is always challenging us to do more. Hamlet can be read, staged and understood in more ways than one can imagine: as a history, a crime novel or a philosophy. |
