magistrsko delo

Analysis of the Timber-Framed Walls with Load-Bearing Glass Application on Timber-Frame Panel Building |
Sekundarni povzetek: |
In the master's thesis we are focused on prefabricated timber frame panel system of timber constructions. We analyzed a solution to use timber-framed walls with load-bearing glass to ensure the horizontal stability of a three-storey building with increased proportion of glazing surfaces, located in a seismic hazard zone. We performed a dynamic analysis for the building in the original design, and then repeated the calculation for the case where we added timber framed walls with load-bearing glass that further contribute to the rigidity of the building. We made two 3D structural models, where the wall elements were modeled as truss frames with a fictitious diagonal, which simulates the rigidity of an individual wall element. Results were compared and the goal was to assess the feasibility of using the mentioned wall elements. We analyzed the horizontal displacements of both structural models, oscillation periods, positions of shear centers and load-bearing capacity or utilization of individual wall elements. A static analysis was also performed, which is quite standard and without special features. As part of this work, we also present timber construction in combination with glass, glass as a material, composites of timber and glass and other possible solutions to ensure the stability of timber buildings. This primarily serves as a tool for more comprehensive understanding of the issue. |
