(diplomsko delo)
Metode: Izvedli smo sistematični pristop z metodo pregleda, analize in sinteze znanstvene literature ter metodo kompilacije. Pri tem smo upoštevali smernice po PRISMA. Izvedli smo tematsko analizo in sintezo podatkov.

Effects of music therapy on well-being of older adults with dementia |
Sekundarni povzetek: |
Introduction: Slovenia is becoming an ageing society. More and more people in Slovenia are over 65, and the numbers will grow sharply from year to year. As a result, the number of cases of older people with dementia is also increasing. There are pharmacological forms of treatments or relieving the symptoms of dementia, but we are increasingly using non-pharmacological forms that are effective and without side effects. Music therapy is one way of relieving the symptoms of dementia.
Methods: We performed a systematic approach with the examination method, analysis and synthesis of the literature and used the compilation method. PRISMA guidelines were followed. Thematic analysis and synthesis of data were used.
Results: 875 records were identified. Thirteen articles were included in the thematic synthesis. We identified three themes and nine subthemes to help understand the positive effects of using music therapy on older people with dementia. The main topics are: (1) The choice and course of music therapy; (2) Positive effects of music therapy on older people with dementia; and (3) Disruptive factors in music therapy interventions.
Discussion and conclusion: We found that music therapies have many positive effects on older people with dementia, but it would be good to include music therapy in the daily activities of older people. Only through continuous use of this pharmacological treatment can we provide long-term effects on the well-being of older adults with dementia. |
