Povzetek

Sladkorna bolezen je kronična bolezen, ki bolnika spremlja do konca življenja. Ne da se je ozdraviti, lahko jo samo omilimo in preprečimo nastanek kroničnih zapletov. Njeno zdravljenje je kompleksno in zahteva bolnikovo polno sodelovanje. Z zdravstveno vzgojo bolniku pomagamo in ga usposabljamo za samostojno vodenje svoje bolezni in čimboljšo kakovost življenja. Diplomsko delo govori o kakovosti življenja bolnikov s sladkorno boleznijo. V teoretičnem delu smo na kratko povedali nekaj o sladkorni bolezni, opisali kakovost življenja, podrobno predstavili in opisali dejavnike, ki so povezani s kakovostjo življenja sladkornih bolnikov ter se osredotočili tudi na pomen bolnikovega sodelovanja v procesu zdravljenja. Drugi del diplomskega dela zajema raziskavo o kakovosti življenja bolnikov s sladkorno boleznijo, kjer smo zajeli 50 naključno izbranih bolnikov, ki se zdravijo v Dispanzerju za diabetike v Zdravstvenem domu Ravne na Koroškem. Ugotovili smo, da se je pri več kot polovici anketiranih kakovost življenja znižala. Spremembe so najbolj opazne na področju prehranjevanja, ker morajo bolniki spremeniti prehranjevalne navade, težave pa jim povzroča tudi skrb v zvezi z jemanje zdravil, vbrizgavanje insulina, pogosti obiski zdravnika, redno kontroliranje sladkorja v krvi ter kontrola telesne teže.

Sekundarni povzetek: Diabetes is a chronic illness from which patient suffers for the rest of their lives. It is an incurable illness, which can, however, be alleviated, while the chronic complications can be prevented. The treatment of diabetes is a complex one and it demands a patient's full involvement and cooperation. A patient is equipped with knowledge from the field of health education in order to keep a record of their illness independently and improve the quality of their life. The present diploma thesis focuses on the quality of life of diabetes. The theoretical part is a nutshell summarizes the basic fact on diabetes, furthermore describes the quality of life of diabetics, in detail presents the factors, liked to the quality of life of diabetics and finally, singles out the importance of a patient's involvement in the process of treatment. The empirical part of the diploma thesis encompasses a survey made on the quality of life of diabetics. A group of 50 randomly chosen patients treated at the Diabetic Clinic in Ravne na Koroškem health center were included in the survey. The results show that the quality of life was reduced indeed. The changes are most observable in the field of nutrition, sice diabetics have to change their eating habits drastically, while they at the same time struggle with taking medications, injecting thenselves with insulin, regulary their blood sugar and their body weight.
