Sekundarni povzetek: Thesis describes the history of HEMS operation until today, the legal basis for the operation of and a survey to determine how they are employed in the HEMS satisfied with the current situation in the HEMS. Research methodology: Research was made with the use of descriptive survey method that included a questionnaire. The study involved 45 employees. The research was conducted in Primary health care Gorenjska, Kranj health center, Helicopter emergency medical unit Slovenia. The survey was used to determine how employees are satisfied with the HEMS service, whether they are satisfied with the cooperation of police and army, how they are satisfied with the activation time, how they are able to work with equipment for emergency medical help and to determine how is this equipment trasferred. The survey was also used to determine if Slovenian hospitals have good cooperation with the HEMS service when informed about patients and if space necessary for a helicopter landing is provided. The survey was also used to determine employees express the need for flights during the night and if employees express the need for HEMS to purchase it's own helicopter. Results: We found that employees in the unit hems are currently not satisfied with the situation in the HEMS. They are more satisfied with the cooperation of police than with the cooperation of the army and police activation is much faster than the Army. The employees think that Slovenian hospitals do not provide safe landing space. Due to security reasons, employees do not see the need for flights during the night. All employees are of the opinion that Slovenia would need a special helicopter to carry out HEMS. Conclusion: Being aware of the fact that the HEMS shortened the time from the moment of sudden illness or injury to admission to hospital, which is especially important in situations where time is of the essence. Due to this reason we can not imagine, the EMS without HEMS in Slovenia.
