Sekundarni povzetek: The purpose of the master's thesis is based on the real need for the construction of the Children's Regional Center for children with special needs in Čakovec, which will cover the area of the northwestern part of the Republic of Croatia. The number of children who have some form of physical or mental disorder and need a special, additional and/or individual work program is increasing every day, i.e. there is a large share of children who are not provided with the necessary special program of work, education and/or rehabilitation. Based on the conducted research, spatial analysis and data and the theoretical part of this paper, which deals with topics of education and rehabilitation of children with special needs and spatial planning for children with special needs, the conceptual urban-architectural solution of the Children's Regional Center Čakovec and associated surfaces. In the planned area, in the southern part of the city of Čakovec, the park 'Martane' was established, within which the premises of the Children's Regional Center are located. The new Children's Regional Center Čakovec is designed as a center for education and rehabilitation of children with special needs. The conceptual urban-architectural design is a response to the social and spatial problems of the wider area. The lack of public and green and sports and recreational areas and service activities, all in a predominantly residential area, directs us to plan an open, usable and accessible space, which will provide all the necessary facilities and activities that are missing in this area. As part of the park 'Martane', in addition to the Children's Regional Center, additional service and trade facilities have been opened, as well as new sports and recreational zone and zones of children's playgrounds, intended for children and children's play outside, in the natural environment. Park areas have been opened that will allow all users of the new space to stay, regardless of physical disability or age group.
