Dodatna izobraževanja članov negovalnega tima so ključnega pomena za preventivo in nego razjede zaradi pritiska.

Sekundarni naslov: Pressure ulcer in nursing homes
Sekundarni povzetek: Pressure ulcers are chronic wounds and a serious complication, common in people with an underlying health condition, especially in bedridden patients who remain in a single decubitus position for a lengthy period of time due to a long-term illness or injury. Nurses play a leading role in preventing the occurrence of pressure ulceration in elderly patients, which can only be done by providing continuous and around the clock nursing care in order to detect any skin lesions in time. Research Methodology. Nurses and medical technicians employed at the care homes of Koroška (Slovene Carinthia) were interviewed by means of a structured questionnaire. The data were then statistically analysed using Microsoft Excel program in addition to their graphical representation. The present study has been conducted in order to determine whether the nursing personnel pay enough attention to the first signs of pressure ulcers, and to evaluate the quality of prevention and treatment methods. Research Results. The study has concluded that 11% of the nursing team are the first ones to notice the first stage (non-blanchable redness of the skin) of a pressure ulcer when it can still be prevented by taking the appropriate measures. What is more, the study has also established the percentage of the ulcers already developed as well as those that have been prevented, the sites that are most commonly affected and, last but not least, the type of impermeable dressing, used to treat pressure ulcers. Conclusion. Pressure ulceration in elderly patients, who are in institutional care, is a complex problem in nursing care; therefore it is of vital importance to provide further education on pressure ulcer prevention and treatment for all members of the nursing team.
