Povzetek

Delo na daljavo oziroma delo od doma je pred pandemijo COVID-19 bila le ena iz med možnosti opravljanja dela za zaposlene, krizne razmere pa so marsikoga v to prisilile. Če želimo pri delu biti kar se da osebno učinkoviti, moramo delo opravljati na premišljen način, ne glede na to, za katero vrsto dela gre (delo na fizični lokaciji delodajalca, delo na daljavo …). Namen magistrskega dela je bil preučiti in raziskati vpliv dela na daljavo/od doma na osebno učinkovitost zaposlenih. Na podlagi namena in ciljev smo oblikovali štiri hipoteze, ki so bile vezane na prednosti oziroma slabosti dela na daljavo ter na osebno učinkovitost zaposlenih pri opravljanju dela na daljavo med pandemijo COVID-19 oziroma pri opravljanju dela na fizični lokaciji delodajalca pred pandemijo. Po preučeni izbrani literaturi smo spisali teorijo o ključnih pojmih, empirični del pa je obsegala kvantitativna raziskava, ki je temeljila na neeksperimentalni metodi (uporabljen je bil anketni vprašalnik s vprašanji zaprtega tipa in s vprašanji z mersko lestvico). Glede na rezultate, pridobljene v raziskavi, smo ugotovili, da je fleksibilnost dela (možnost lastne organizacije ter razporejanje delovnega in zasebnega časa) bila s strani anketiranih ocenjena kot ena iz med glavnih prednosti dela na daljavo. Na drugi strani pa so anketirani kot eno iz med glavnih slabosti pri delu na daljavo izpostavili pomanjkanje stikov z ostalimi zaposlenimi ter postavljanje meje med zasebnim in poklicnim življenjem (vpliv »covid situacije«). Kar se tiče osebne učinkovitosti glede na način opravljanja dela smo ugotovili, da se ta razlikuje samo na določenih področjih, kot je na primer opravljanje dela, ki zahteva večjo koncentracijo oz. zbranost, ter pri komuniciranju z nadrejenimi. Končni rezultati so nam dali vpogled v pomanjkljivosti glede organizacije dela na daljavo. Iz preučene literature, analiz anket ter na podlagi trenutnih usmeritev glede opravljanja dela na daljavo so tako podani splošni predlogi za zagotavljanje boljše osebne učinkovitosti zaposlenih. Največji prispevek dela je na področju organizacijskih ved, saj so zaključki lahko kot vodilo vodjem, ki se soočajo z odločitvijo o uvedbi dela na daljavo. Poleg navedenega so podane tudi omejitve raziskave ter možnost mednarodnega primerjanja.

Sekundarni povzetek: Before the COVID-19 pandemic, remote work or working from home was just one of the possibilities for employees, and the crisis forced many to do so. In order to be most effective in our work, we must do the work wisely, regardless of the type of work (working from our employer’s location, remote work …). The purpose of this master's thesis was to study and examine the impact of remote work/work from home on the personal effectiveness of employees. Based on the purpose and goals, we formulated four hypotheses related to the advantages and disadvantages of remote work, and to the employees’ personal effectiveness in performing remote work during the COVID-19 pandemic or in performing work from our employer’s location before the pandemic. Using the selected literature, we developed a theory of key concepts. The empirical part consists of a quantitative research based on a non-experimental method (a questionnaire with closed-ended questions and scale questions was used). Based upon the research results, flexibility of work (the possibility of self-organization and to schedule work and private time) was considered one of the main advantages of remote work by respondents. On the other hand, the interviewees highlighted the lack of contact with other employees and setting a boundary between personal and professional life as one of the major disadvantages of remote work (the impact of the covid situation). In regard to personal efficiency in terms of how one performs work, we found that it differed only in certain areas, such as performing work that requires greater concentration or focus, and when communicating with superiors. In conclusion, the final results uncovered shortcomings in the organization of remote work. In light of the studied literature, analyses of surveys, and current guidelines relating to performance of remote work, general suggestions are made of how to ensure better personal efficiency of employees. The greatest contribution of the thesis is to the field of organizational sciences, as the conclusions can serve as a guide for managers when faced with the decision of introducing remote work. Additionally, the study’s limitations and the possibility of international comparisons are also addressed.
