(diplomsko delo)
Raziskovalna metodologija: V diplomskem delu smo uporabili deskriptivno metodo dela.

Quality of life of adult patients with celiac disease |
Sekundarni povzetek: |
Theoretical basis: Celiac disease is a chronic inflammation of the small intestine, and its most prominent histological feature is the atrophy of the villi. Because of this phenomenon, the surface of the mucus is reduced significantly and malabsorption of nutrients occurs. Celiac disease occurs as a consequence of hypersensitivity to gluten present in food. The therapy consists of a gluten free diet.
Purpose: The purpose of this thesis is to offer a description of celiac disease and study the quality of life of an adult patient with this disease.
Research methodology: The descriptive method of research was used in this thesis. A survey of celiac disease patients was carried out with a questionnaire comprising 21 questions; 18 of these were closed type questions, two were semi-open and two open.
Results: The survey has shown that most of the patients questioned have a good quality of life despite the disease. In addition, the survey shows that most of the respondents follow a gluten free diet and agree that there are enough gluten free products available on the market to provide for a good quality of life for celiac disease patients. These patients require the help and support of family members and this was also confirmed with the survey results.
Conclusion: From the results of the survey, we conclude that celiac disease patients have a good quality of life. Contributing factors for a good quality of life of these patients are a gluten free diet and the help and support of family and friends. |
