Povzetek

Večina objavljenih definicij terorizma se srečuje z mnogimi težavami. Osnovne težave teh definicij so predvsem opredelitev žrtev ter ciljev terorizma. Cilj diplomske naloge Terorizem - poskus realne definicije je definicija terorizma, ki bi se tem težavam izognila. V delu so tako predstavljena pravila za tvorjenje definicij ter pregled različnih vrst definicij in opredelitev modusa pomena. Sledi odgovor na vprašanje, ali definicijo terorizma sploh potrebujemo in čemu bi naj definicija terorizma služila. V nadaljevanju so predstavljene različne definicije terorizma. Sprva so predstavljene definicije iz različnih medijev ter njihove pomanjkljivosti. Kot protiutež le-tem so predstavljene definicije različnih uradnih institucij ter njihove težave. Sledi predstavitev nekaterih definicij iz Slovarja terorizma (Dictionary of Terrorism), nato pa analize definicij, ki jih v svojih prispevkih predstavljajo I. Primorac, C. A. J. Coadya in A. M. Jaggar. Na osnovi pregleda predstavljenih definicij in njihovih težav, sledi poskus lastne realne definicije in njene utemeljitve.

Sekundarni povzetek:	Most published definitions of terrorism deal with a lot of difficulties. The basic difficulties of those definitions are how to define the victims and the targets of terrorism. The objective of this paper Terrorism - an Attempt of a Real Definition is a definition of terrorism, which avoids such difficulties. In the paper we present the rules of forming definitions, we review different kinds of definitions and we define the mode of meaning. In addition we answer the question whether we really need a definition of terrorism and what the purpose of this definition should be. We continue with the presentation of different kinds of definitions of terrorism. At first we present the opinions of different media and their deficiencies. As a counterweight of this, we present opinions of different official institutions and their problems. Those opinions are followed by some definitions from the Dictionary of Terrorism and some analysis of the definitions of I. Primorac, C. A. J. Coady and A. M. Jaggar. Based on the outline of the presented definitions and their difficulties, we try to form an real definition by ourselves and explain it.
