Sekundarni povzetek: The World Wide Web bas become an important platform for developing and running applications. A vital process while developing web applications is the choice of web technologies, on which the application will be build. The developers face a dizzying array of platforms, languages, frameworks and technical artifacts to choose from. The decison carries consequences on most other decisions in the development process. Thesis contains analisis, classifications and comparison of web technologies supporting Web application development. The begining contains the World Wide Web history and affiliated technologies. Followed by analisis of web development platforms .NET, Java and LAMP. Then we present the most popular server-side and client-side frameworks. The included comparisons can serve as a roadmap for choosing technical artefacts according to specific application needs.
