diplomsko delo

Introduction: Cervical cancer is the third most common cancer in women worldwide. Cervical diagnosis and treatment affect women's quality of life, psychological state and reproductive health. Purpose: The purpose of the thesis is to present the impact of the diagnosis and treatment of cervical cancer on the quality of life of women. Methods: In the diploma thesis, we used a descriptive work method. A review of the proffesional and scientific domestic and foreign litearture on the topic under discussion was made. Literature was searched in the databases CINAHL, MEDLINE, PubMed, Cochrane Library. In the literature review, we included transparent and original scientific articles that were published from 2009 onwards. We included 10 articles in a more detailed analysis. Results: The results show that women with cervical cancer generally have a rather low quality of life score. Depression has the greates impact on quality of life, followed by impaired sexual function and type of treatment. The main task of nurse is open sexual communication about sexuality and raising awareness among women screening programs and vaccination. Discussion and conclusion: Cervical cancer has a significant impact on women's quality of life. Depression, anxiety, decline in sexual function often occur, which causes long-term stress and worries in women. Women additionally experience the pressures of society, which negatively affects their emotional and social functioning, as a result of which their self-image and self-confidence also deteriorate. Nurses therefore play an extremely important role in rasing awareness about prevention and health promotion. |
