Povzetek

Uvod: Vse več otrok se srečuje z razvojnimi izzivi, ki vplivajo na njihovo sodelovanje v vsakodnevnih aktivnostih. Delovna terapija je zato nepogrešljiv del podpornega sistema za otroke. V delovni terapiji na področju pediatrije je vključevanje staršev v delovnoterapevtsko obravnavo otrok vse pomembnejši pristop, ki zagotavlja celovitost terapije in prispeva k boljšim terapevtskim izidom. Namen: Analizirati relevantno literaturo in ugotoviti, kaj je do sedaj znanega o vključevanju staršev v delovnoterapevtsko obravnavo otrok in kako vključevanje staršev pripomore k boljšim terapevtskim izidom. Metode dela: Narejen je bil sistematični pregled strokovne in znanstvene literature v angleškem in slovenskem jeziku. Iskanje virov je potekalo v elektronskih podatkovnih bazah CINAHL, PubMed, Web of Science in OTSeeker. Članke smo izbrali glede na vključitvene kriterije in jih ocenili po relevantnosti ter kakovosti. Rezultati: V končno analizo je bilo vključenih 10 člankov, katerih rezultate smo deskriptivno in tematsko prikazali. Oblikovanih je bilo pet glavnih tem: razvoj pozitivnega terapevtskega odnosa; dejavniki, ki spodbujajo starše pri vključitvi v delovnoterapevtsko obravnavo; dejavniki, ki ovirajo starše pri vključitvi v delovnoterapevtsko obravnavo; pozitivni učinki sodelovanja staršev v delovnoterapevtski obravnavi; negativni učinki sodelovanja staršev v delovnoterapevtski obravnavi. Razprava in zaključek: Za začetek sodelovanja med starši in terapevtom je ključnega pomena pozitiven terapevtski odnos, ki temelji na medsebojnem zaupanju, spoštovanju in odprti komunikaciji. Terapevt mora upoštevati vrednote in interese družine ter zagotavljati razlago namena intervencij, ki jih izvaja z otrokom. Kljub temu se starši zaradi zasedenosti urnika s službenimi obveznostmi in zaradi preobremenitve z drugimi obveznostmi v terapevtski proces ne vključijo vedno, pojavijo se lahko tudi logistične ovire in slaba motivacija. Starši skozi sodelovanje v terapevtskem procesu pridobijo nova znanja in strategije, postanejo samozavestnejši in se lažje spoprijemajo z vsakodnevnimi izzivi ter tako izboljšajo opravljanje starševske vloge. V terapevtskem procesu lahko nekateri starši občutijo negativna čustva, še posebej takrat, ko terapije za svojega otroka sami niso želeli ali le-ta ne izpolnjuje njihovih pričakovanj.

Sekundarni povzetek: Introduction: More and more children are facing developmental challenges that affect their participation in everyday activities, making occupational therapy an indispensable part of the support system for children. In paediatric occupational therapy, the involvement of parents in the occupational therapeutic treatment of their children is an increasingly important approach that ensures the integrity of therapy and contributes to better therapeutic outcomes. Purpose: To analyse the relevant literature and identify what is known so far about parental involvement in occupational therapy with children and how parental involvement contributes to better therapeutic outcomes. Methods: A systematic review of the professional and scientific literature in English and Slovenian was carried out. The sources were searched in the electronic databases CINAHL, PubMed, Web of Science and OTSeeker. Articles were selected according to inclusion criteria and assessed for relevance and quality. Results: The final analysis included 10 articles, the results of which were presented descriptively and thematically. Five main themes were developed: the development of a positive therapeutic attitude; factors that encourage parents to engage in occupational therapy; factors that hinder parents from engaging in occupational therapy; positive effects of parental involvement in occupational therapy; negative effects of parental involvement in occupational therapy. Discussion and conclusion: A positive therapeutic relationship based on mutual trust, respect and open communication is essential for parents and therapists to start working together. The therapist must take into account the values and interests of the family and provide an explanation of the purpose of the interventions he/she is carrying out with the child. However, parents are not always involved in the therapeutic process, due to busy schedules with work commitments and overloaded with other commitments, and logistical obstacles and poor motivation may also arise. Parents gain new skills and strategies through the therapeutic process, become more confident and better able to cope with daily challenges, thus improving their parenting role. Some parents may experience negative feelings during the therapeutic process, especially when they did not want therapy for their child or when it does not meet their expectations.
