Povzetek

Glavna tema magistrskega dela je izobraževanje v srednjem veku na Slovenskem, s poudarkom na izobraževanju in šolnikih v Mariboru in Ljubljani. Srednjeveško izobraževanje je bilo tako drugod kot tudi na slovenskem etničnem ozemlju tesno povezano s stanovsko ureditvijo. V prvi vrsti so otroke izobraževali in vzgajali na način, da bodo znali opravljati naloge svojega stanu. Zelo pomembna pri izobraževanju je bila tudi krščanska cerkev, ki je s pomočjo izobraževanja v prvi vrsti širila svojo miselnost in nauke. Cerkev je prebivalce najprej poučevala skozi pokristjanjevanje, v 10. stoletju pa so se v njenem okviru tudi na našem ozemlju začele pojavljati prve šole. Izobraževalne ustanove v okviru cerkve so bile stolne, samostanske in župnijske šole. Posvetno izobrazbo je bilo mogoče pridobiti v okviru mestnih šol, s poklicnim in cehovskim izobraževanjem in s pomočjo domačih učiteljev. Šole so v srednjem veku obstajale tudi v Mariboru in Ljubljani, kjer so posledično delovali različni učitelji. Slednji so ob svoji primarni vlogi večkrat omenjeni kot priče pri različnih dogodkih, sodelovali so pri kupovanju in prodaji, cerkvenih obredih in prejemu ali plačilu denarja. V obeh mestih so bili videni v podobnih vlogah in prisotni v približno enakem številu. Njihova vloga v meščanski družbi je bila srednje pomembna, saj sta bila v ospredje postavljena plemstvo in duhovščina.

Sekundarni povzetek: The main topic of the master's thesis is education in the Middle Ages in Slovenia, focusing on education and schoolmasters in Maribor and Ljubljana. Medieval education was closely linked to the class system, both elsewhere and in the Slovene ethnic territory. Children were first and foremost educated and brought up in such a way that they would be able to perform the duties of their class. The Christian Church also played a major role in education, primarily by spreading its mindset and doctrines through education. The Church first educated the population through Christianisation, and in the 10th century, the first schools began to appear in our territory. The educational institutions within the Church were cathedral, monastic, and parish schools. Secular education could be obtained in the town schools through vocational and guild education and with the help of local teachers. Schools in the Middle Ages also existed in Maribor and Ljubljana, where different teachers worked. In addition to their primary role, they are often mentioned as witnesses to various events, taking part in buying and selling, church ceremonies, and receiving or paying money. They were seen in similar roles in both cities and were present in roughly equal numbers. Their role in urban society was of medium importance, as the nobility and the clergy were given prominence.
