Povzetek

Doktorska disertacija namenja poseben pomen učenju in poučevanju fotografije, tehnike, ki ima umetniške značilnosti in je sredstvo vsakodnevne vizualne komunikacije. Uporaba fotografije kot izraznega medija za učence je enako pomembna kot uporaba klasičnih likovnih področij (risanja, slikanja, grafike). Vendar so raziskave, povezane z učenjem ali poučevanjem fotografije pri likovni vzgoji, redke. Glavni cilj disertacije je bil preveriti učinkovitost uporabe fotografije kot medija za likovno izražanje pri pouku. Teoretični del obravnava terminološko, etimološko in pojmovno opredelitev fotografije, povezanost z drugimi področji človekovega delovanja, pedagoške teorije, na katere se opira raziskava, in didaktične elemente za pouk likovne vzgoje, ki vključuje uporabo fotografije. V empiričnem delu disertacije je opisana raziskava, opravljena na podlagi teoretičnih izhodišč. Cilji eksperimentalne raziskave so bili usmerjeni v preverjanje, kako učinki uporabe fotografije vplivajo na učence v primerjavi s klasičnimi likovnimi področji. V pedagoškem eksperimentu je sodelovalo 236 osnovnošolcev. Za popolnejšo sliko o učinkovitosti uporabe fotografije pri pouku kvantitativne metode zbiranja in obdelave podatkov dopolnjujejo kvalitativna analiza likovnih del in intervjuji s sodelujočimi učitelji. Rezultati so pokazali, da učenje in poučevanje s pomočjo fotografije pozitivno vpliva na likovni razvoj učencev. Tisti, ki so pri pouku uporabljali fotografijo, so imeli boljše rezultate pri uporabi likovnih pojmov, ustvarjalni uporabi likovnih pojmov ter pri posredovanju vizualnih idej in sporočil kot učenci, ki so pri pouku uporabljali klasične tehnike. Boljše rezultate v likovnem znanju oziroma razumevanju likovnih pojmov so pokazali učenci 8. razreda, za učence 5. razreda pa to ne velja. Hipoteza, da bodo učenci, ki so uporabljali fotografijo, pozornejši pri pouku likovne vzgoje in da bodo izrazili pozitivnejša stališča do fotografije, se ni potrdila. Raziskava prinaša nova spoznanja o učinkovitosti uporabe fotografije pri likovni didaktiki. Ker temeljna raziskava te teme na Hrvaškem še ni poznana, je pričakovati, da bo spodbudila nadaljnje raziskovanje uporabe fotografije pri likovni didaktiki.

Sekundarni povzetek: In this doctoral dissertation, special emphasis is placed on the learning and teaching of photography, describing its twofold nature as both an art technique and a tool for everyday visual communication. The use of photography as means of expression by students is as important as the use of traditional art fields (drawing, painting and printmaking). However, there are not many research about the learning or teaching photography as part of art classes in schools. The main objective of the dissertation was to examine the effectiveness of using photography as a medium of expression in art classes. The theoretical component covers terminological, etymological and conceptual definition of photography and its correlation with other areas of human activity, pedagogical theories that represent the key points of the research, and didactic elements of art teaching that incorporates photography. The empirical part of the dissertation was based on theoretical background. The objectives of the experimental research were aimed at examining the effectiveness of using photography with students, comparing its impact to that of classical art fields. Two hundred thirty-six elementary school students participated in the pedagogical experiment. To gain a complete picture of the effectiveness of using photography in teaching, quantitative methods of data collection and analysis were complemented by qualitative examinations of artworks and interviews with the participating teachers. The results showed that learning and teaching that incorporates photography has a beneficial effect on the artistic development of students. Students who used photography in art classes demonstrated a better ability in applying artistic concepts and a greater creativity in employing visual elements. They also excelled in conveying visual ideas and messages as compared to students who used only traditional techniques. Eight-graders showed better knowledge in visual arts and better results understanding of visual concepts, while no such results were found in fifth-graders. The hypothesis that students who use photography in art classes would show greater learning attention and express more positive attitudes about photography has not been confirmed. The research offers new insights into the effectiveness of employing photography in art classes. Since there has not been any thorough research on this topic in Croatia, it is expected that this dissertation will encourage new investigations into the use of photography in teaching.
